Throughout the novel Fitzgerald describes the life of the characters as greedy with emptiness that fills their lives. Gatsby is described as reckless and a fun lover that throws immaculate parties with wild jazz music that Gatsby throws every Saturday nigh which ultimately results in the corruption of the American dream which is the overall moral of the story.

No one knows really who he is, where he is from, or anything else for that matter but he is still able to make a name for himself. The one thing that seperates Gatsby from everybody else, and makes him so “great” is his amazing ability to turn his dreams into reality.
